Kisumu Young Agripreneurs (KIYA) is partnering with the Roddenberry Foundation (+1 Global Fund) to strengthen community sensitization and capacity building on food security and circular economy practices in Nyalenda, Kisumu.
Through this partnership, KIYA is implementing group-based sensitization forums and practical training sessions targeting youth, women, and community groups. The initiative focuses on building awareness and skills around sustainable food systems, circular economy principles, and climate-resilient urban agriculture.
The trainings empower communities to apply circular approaches at household and neighborhood levels, improving local food production, resource efficiency, and environmental stewardship. By promoting inclusive participation and local leadership, the initiative supports community-driven solutions that enhance nutrition, livelihoods, and resilience.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to grassroots leadership, equity, and locally led action, recognizing the power of community knowledge in shaping sustainable food systems.
